Compare the job you need done
A forwarding service and a purchasing concierge solve overlapping but different problems. A forwarding service may be enough when you can buy the item yourself and only need a US delivery address. A purchasing service helps when the retailer checkout, product review or quoting process is the difficult part.
AmeriKiwi's model starts before purchase: you send the product first, a person reviews it, and you decide whether to accept the quote.
What not to assume
Do not assume any alternative is automatically cheaper, faster or suitable for every product. Pricing depends on product size, weight, US shipping, border charges, provider fees and whether a parcel can be consolidated.
Do not assume a US address solves restricted goods. New Zealand border rules and carrier rules still apply.
Where AmeriKiwi may suit better
AmeriKiwi may be a fit when you want an itemised quote before purchase, when the US retailer does not make checkout easy from New Zealand, when you want eligibility review before payment, or when you want support tied to one request reference.
It may not be the right fit for products AmeriKiwi does not accept, bulk commercial imports outside the request limits, or situations where you need licensed customs advice.
